The Challenge

ShopElevate had traffic but not revenue. Despite running successful paid ads that drove 45,000 monthly visitors, their conversion rate sat at a dismal 0.9% — well below the e-commerce industry average of 2.5–3%. A 78% bounce rate and a checkout abandonment rate of 81% were bleeding the ad budget dry.

A UX audit exposed the root causes: slow page load times (6.2 seconds on mobile), a cluttered product page layout, a 7-step checkout process with mandatory account creation, and a mobile experience that hadn't been touched in 4 years.

Our Strategy

  • Full UX Redesign: Redesigned every key template — homepage, collection pages, product pages, and cart — using conversion-focused layouts informed by heatmap and session recording data.
  • Shopify Rebuild: Migrated to a custom Shopify 2.0 theme built for performance. Achieved sub-2-second load times across all devices.
  • Checkout Optimisation: Reduced checkout from 7 steps to 3. Added guest checkout, integrated Shop Pay and Apple Pay, and implemented an abandoned cart email sequence.
  • A/B Testing Programme: Ran 18 concurrent A/B tests on product page elements — hero images, CTAs, pricing presentation, trust badges, and social proof placement.
